Dayo (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is developed and published by Nova Nomads LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.
By using Dayo, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Display Name – Stored locally on your device, never transmitted to any server.
- Profile Photo – Image data stored locally on your device only.
- Journal Entries – Stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access.
- Preferences – Categories, notifications, appearance, and language stored locally.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Analytics Data – Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage data (no PII). Firebase Privacy.
- Advertising Data – Free-tier users see ads from Google AdMob. Google Privacy Policy.
- Location Data – If permitted, the app uses your approximate location. We do not store or share your location. Location is entirely optional.
- Purchase Information – Processed entirely by Apple StoreKit. We collect no payment data.
2. How We Use Information
- To deliver daily affirmations and personalize content based on preferences and categories.
- To enable journaling and store reflections locally.
- To send local push notifications on your schedule.
- To show advertisements to free-tier users.
- To analyze anonymous usage patterns and improve the app.
- To process in-app purchases through Apple.
3. Data Storage and Security
Dayo does not operate any backend servers. All personal data is stored locally on your device via Apple’s standard secure storage. Deleting the app permanently removes all local data.

- Apple Push Notification Service – Local scheduling, no remote data sent.
5. Cross-App Tracking
Dayo does not engage in cross-app tracking. You may decline Apple’s ATT prompt without any loss of functionality.
6. Children’s Privacy
Dayo is not directed at children under 13. Contact us if you believe we’ve collected information from a child under 13.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Location – iOS Settings > Dayo > Location.
- Notifications – App Settings or iOS Settings > Dayo > Notifications.
- Ad Tracking – iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Data Deletion – Delete the app to remove all local data.
- Ad-Free Experience – Purchase Dayo Premium.
8. Data Retention
All personal data persists only as long as the app is installed. Anonymous analytics retained by Firebase is governed by Google’s retention policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
