Dayo ("we," "our," or "the app") is developed and published by Nova Nomads LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.

By using Dayo, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Display Name - You may optionally enter a first name during onboarding. This is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
Profile Photo - You may optionally choose a photo from your library. The image data is stored locally on your device only.
Journal Entries - Personal reflections and notes you write are stored exclusively on your device in a local file. We do not have access to this content.
Preferences - Category selections, notification schedule, appearance mode, and language preference are stored locally on your device.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Analytics Data - We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymous usage data such as which features are used, screen views, and app engagement metrics. This data does not include personally identifiable information. Firebase Analytics may collect device type, operating system version, and general interaction data. See Firebase Privacy for details.
Advertising Data - For users on the free tier, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. You may be prompted via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework to allow or deny tracking for personalized ads. You can use the app fully regardless of your choice. See Google Privacy Policy for details.
Location Data - If you grant permission, the app uses your approximate location (reduced accuracy) to personalize your daily affirmations. We do not store, transmit, or share your location with any other party. Location access is entirely optional.
Purchase Information - In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or store payment information, credit card numbers, or Apple ID details.

2. How We Use Information

To deliver daily affirmations and personalize content based on your preferences and selected categories.
To enable journaling features and store your reflections locally.
To send local push notifications at your requested schedule.
To display advertisements to free-tier users.
To analyze anonymous usage patterns and improve the app experience.
To process in-app purchases through Apple's systems.

3. Data Storage and Security

Dayo does not operate any backend servers. All personal data - including your name, journal entries, preferences, and settings - is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard secure storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and local file storage within the app's sandboxed container).

We do not have the ability to access, read, or recover your data. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

4. Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party services:

Firebase Analytics (Google) - Anonymous usage analytics. Privacy Info
Google AdMob - Advertisement serving for free-tier users. Privacy Policy
Apple StoreKit - In-app purchase processing. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
Apple Push Notification Service - Local notification scheduling. No data is sent to remote servers.

5. Cross-App Tracking

Dayo does not engage in cross-app tracking. If prompted by Apple's App Tracking Transparency dialog regarding ad personalization, you may decline without any loss of functionality. Our privacy manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) declares NSPrivacyTracking as false.

6. Children's Privacy

Dayo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Location - You can enable or disable location access at any time in iOS Settings > Dayo > Location.
Notifications - You can change or disable notifications in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings > Dayo > Notifications.
Ad Tracking - You can control ad personalization via iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Data Deletion - Since all data is stored locally, you can delete all your data by deleting the app from your device.
Ad-Free Experience - You can purchase Dayo Premium to remove all advertisements.

8. Data Retention

All personal data is stored on your device and persists only as long as the app is installed. Anonymous analytics data retained by Firebase is governed by Google's data retention policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
